The Mod Overhaul!

Recently, Nico dove into the code to completely overhaul the mod system in VirtualSociety. Why embark on this massive project? What are the new possibilities for your worlds? We'll explain everything.
Power to the community
Until now, the game only featured official elements, created and added by our team. But as soon as the game is released, you will be able to add as many mods as you want!
Soon, the community will be able to share their own creations on our sharing platform.
This is exactly why Nico took the time to review the current mod management, in order to create a much more modular architecture ready to accommodate your future ideas.
A unified platform to keep track of everything
Directly integrated into the game, a new catalog will give you access to a list of plugins offered by other players, downloadable with a single click. It will be just as easy to add your own!
The great advantage of this in-game interface is fairness: you will have access to the same plugins, regardless of your platform. PC players and mobile players will share the exact same list of content.
What are mods again?
Simply put, mods are the heart of VirtualSociety's content. It's the system that allows you to add absolutely anything to the game: sounds, objects, new characters, etc.
Total control over your worlds
With this new system, every world creator can now decide exactly which mods are allowed or not, thanks to a Allowlist/Denylist system.
Imagine: you've spent hours building a magnificent castle in a purely Fantasy universe. You probably have no desire to see players land in spaceships!
Well, all you have to do is remove the Sci-fi mod from your allowed list, it's that easy.
Whether it's to declutter your menu and filter out unwanted items, or to guarantee the consistency of your universe, this feature gives you back absolute control over the theme of your experiences.
Optimal gaming comfort
Joining a world but not sure if you have all the necessary mods? No problem! The system will now automatically download the mods you don't have yet, but which are required to explore the world you are joining.
